City Council selects eight candidates for City Manager interview phase

The City of Eagle Pass City Council
selected eight candidates to be interviewed for the City Manager position at their Tuesday, January 22, 2013, Special Meeting at 5:30 p.m. at City Council Chambers, announced Isabel Perez, Human Resources Director of the City of Eagle Pass.

Selected to be interviewed are Michael Lloyd Ezzel, Alan Grindstaff, Patrick B. Howard, Gloria I. Martinez-Barrientos, Arthur F. Prida, Oscar Eric Ramirez, Jesus Sanchez, and Gary Dumas.

“The City Council voted and approved these eight candidates for the City Manager position interview phase. The City Council will interview the candidates during the week of February 25-28, 2013,” Perez said. The City Council, however, did not set a deadline or goal by when to select a new City Manager.

Former City Manager Daniel Valenzuela resigned to accept the City of San Angelo’s City Manager position. The Eagle Pass City Council appointed Assistant City Manager Gloria I. Martinez-Barrientos as Interim City Manager pending the appointment of a new City Manager. Martinez-Barrientos is one of eight candidates selected to be interviewed.
