“Eagle Pass Day” at State Legislature set for January 31st

The traditional biennial “Eagle Pass Day” at the Texas State Legislature will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013, in Austin, Texas, announced Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu.
A delegation of 20-30 Eagle Pass and Maverick County public representatives, business, and civic leaders will participate in this important event to speak with state legislators and state agencies to present the most salient needs of our community during the 2013 Texas Legislative Session.
Participating in the 2013 “Eagle Pass Day” will be Mayor Cantu and Maverick County Judge David Saucedo together with representatives from the Eagle Pass Independent School District, the Maverick County Hospital District, Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce, City of Eagle Pass, County of Maverick, Maverick County Development Corporation, and other public and private entities.
Local leaders and representatives will present a formal written report to state lawmakers detailing the priorities for Eagle Pass and Maverick County citizens and businesses in the 2013 Texas Legislative Session.
Local “Eagle Pass Day” participants will meet with Texas State. Senator Carlos Uresti, State Representative Alfonso “Poncho” Nevarez, and other Texas legislators and state agencies’ representatives.
