Fourth Court of Appeals Justice Patricia O. Alvarez to be sworn-in January 16th

Newly elected State of Texas Fourth Court of Appeals Justice Patricia O. Alvarez of Laredo, Texas will be sworn-in as the newest justice of the prestigious Fourth Court of Appeals on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Maverick County Courthouse, located at 501 East Main Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Felipe Hernandez, President of the Maverick County Bar Association.
“Justice Alvarez chose to be sworn-in as the newest justice of the Fourth Court of Appeals in Eagle Pass in appreciation of Eagle Pass and Maverick County’s contribution to her election and personal life,” said Hernandez. Justice Alvarez was born in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico and entered the United States of America through Eagle Pass as a legal resident. She went on to live in San Antonio, Texas, where she raised a family and attended college. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
She attended the University of Texas at Austin School of Law earning a Juris Doctor degree and became a licensed attorney in Texas. She has had a brilliant legal practice and now seeks to serve the citizens of the State of Texas as a jurist and justice of Texas’ Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio, serving 32 counties adjacent and near Bexar County and South Texas.
Both 293rd Judicial District Judge Cynthia Muniz and 365th Judicial District Judge Amado Abascal, III will participate in Justice Alvarez’s swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday, January 16th. The swearing-in ceremony is open to the public. Admission is free.
