Gallego Assigned to Subcommittees in House Agriculture and House Armed Services
Washington, DC—Congressman Pete Gallego (TX-23) was assigned to the Subcommittee on Readiness and the Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces on the House Committee on Armed Services. He was also assigned to the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management and Subcommittee on the Livestock, Rural Development, and Credit on the House Committee on Agriculture.
“These assignments will allow me to really serve the district and specialize in things that matter locally,” said Congressman Gallego. “On the one hand, I’ll be in a position to make certain that our country’s soldiers have everything they need to keep us safe and, in turn, that they are taken care of when they come back home. I can also have a voice in any discussion on base realignment and closure.”
“On the other hand, I’m also glad to play a role on themes that are core issues for farmers, ranchers, and both rural and urban communities,” added Congressman Gallego. “The success of our farmers and ranchers impacts the accessibility and affordability of the food we eat – and therefore impacts us all.”
