Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Sale Benefits Local Youth

The 2013 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show and Sale was held on Saturday, January 26. 2013, with over 200 animals sold to local and regional buyers benefitting the youth of Maverick County, announced Tim Hardt, President of the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association. “We appreciate and like to thank all the local and out of town businesses, entities, and individuals who purchased one or more animals at the 2013 Junior Livestock Show benefitting the 4-H and FFA members,” said Hardt.
The 2013 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show and Sale surpassed 2012’s total sales figure by about $5,000 reaching nearly $220,000 for all the animals sold,
The Grand Champion Steer exhibited by Rolando Rodriguez was purchased for $11,000 by Dos Republicas Coal Partnership while the Reserve Champion Steer exhibited by Adrian Rodriguez was purchased for $5,000 by Del Rio Ford Mercury.
The Grand Champion Lamb exhibited by Ernest Molina was purchased for $5,250 by Ancira Ford Mercury of Eagle Pass while the Reserve Champion Lamb exhibited b;y Zacarias Molina was purchased for $3,250 by IBC Bank-Eagle Pass.
The Grand Champion Hog exhibited by Trisha Rodriguez was purchased for $6750 by Ancira Ford Mercury of Eagle Pass while the Reserve Champion Hog exhibited by Keanna Cisneros was purchased for $3,750 by Knickerbocker, Heredia, Jasso & Stewart.
The Grand Champion Goat exhibited by Taylor Carcasi was purchased for $3,750 by Aguila Constuction while the Reserve Champion Goat exhibited by Samantha Molina was purchased by the Nevarez Law Group, P.C..
The 2012-2013 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association includes Tim Hardt, President; Aleida Castillo, Vice-President; Rosie Willars, Secretary; Patrick Kelly, Treasurer; Armando de la Cruz, First Member; Alma Laura Chapa, Second Member; and Roy Molina, Third Member.
