Maverick County & Middle Rio Grande Development Council request bids for Emergency Operations Center

Maverick County Commissioners Court is seeking competitive sealed proposals for construction services related to the construction of the Maverick County Emergency Operations Center at the Radar Base in northern Maverick County on Highway 131, adjacent to the Maverick County Detention Center operated by The GEO Group, in Precinct 3, announced Maverick County Judge David Saucedo. This is a joint project between Maverick County and the Middle Rio Grande Development Council of Carrizo Springs, Texas.

The deadline to submit sealed bids is January 28, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. with Sara Montemayor, County Clerk, County of Maverick, 500 Quarry Street, Eagle Pass, Texas 78852.

The Maverick County Emergency Operations Center will serve as a regional emergency operations center and in a future second phase of construction may become a regional law enforcement academy and training center, including an indoor firing range. Phase 1 is expected to cost over a million dollars with Maverick County providing the real property in which to build the Emergency Operations Center destined to serve the Middle Rio Grande region as well as Maverick County.
