Mike Castillo named Interim Maverick County Landfill General Manager

The Maverick County Solid Waste Authority Board of Directors approved the letter of resignation of Maverick County Landfill General Manager Hector Daniel Chavez and appointed Mike Castillo as Interim Maverick County Landfill General Manager at their Tuesday, January 15, 2013, regular meeting.

Chavez tendered his letter of resignation on Monday, January 7, 2013.

The MCWSA Board of Directors also approved to proceed with the financing, design, and construction of Cell No. 2 of the Maverick County Landfill because Cell No. 1 is expected to fill to capacity sometime this year due to the many Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas companies who have contracted to dispose their solid waste in the local landfill.
