Food Service Manager Certification Training and Examination Seminar to be held February 21st

The Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College Small Business Development Center is offering a two day course for Food Service Manager Certification Training and Examination on Thursday and Friday, February 21-22, 2013, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. on February 21st at the SRSU-Rio Grande College Small Business Development Center located at the Sul Ross State University campus on Highway 277 North and Bob Rogers Drive in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Maricela Brown, Small Business Development Specialist.
” The Food Service Manager Certification Training and Examination course will satisfy both the Texas Department of Health and local Health Department’s Food Health Handlers Certificate requirements,” said Brown. “With the Noches Mexicanas, International Friendship Festival, and Cinco de Mayo Festivals approaching Eagle Pass this Spring, all food vendors at these festivals are required to have a Food Health Handlers Certificate,” said Brown. “Local restaurants and food and beverages businesses also require employees to have a Food Health Handlers Certificate. This course is offered to help all these people, businesses, and organizations to fulfill and obtain the Food Service Manager and Food Health Handlers Certificate,” added Brown.
Training will begin on Thursday, February 21st, from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. with a one-hour lunch and resume on Friday, February 22nd, under the same hours.
The cost of this two day Food Service Manager Certification Training and Examination course is $125 and persons interested may register at the SRSU-Rio Grande College SBDC office or may call the SBDC office at (830) 758-5022. The course is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
