Texas House of Representative Poncho Nevarez, District 74(D-Eagle Pass), has received his House Committee assignments for the 83rd Texas Legislature, announced Texas House of Representative Speaker Joe Straus, R-San Antonio.
Speaker Straus has assigned Representative Nevarez to the Culture, Recreation & Tourism Committee, the International Trade & Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, and the Rules and Resolutions Committee.
Representative Nevarez won election to the 74th House of Representative District on November 6, 2012, vacated by former Representative Pete P. Gallego of Alpine, Texas, who successfully defeated incumbent Republican Tea Party Congressman Francisco ‘Quico’ Canseco for the Texas 23rd Congressional District.
“I look forward to serving in the committees that Speaker Straus appointed me to and the constituents of District 74 and the great state of Texas,” Representative Nevarez said.
