Eagle Passan Lana Harper elected State Director of Pan American Round Tables of Texas

Eagle Passan Lana Harper was elected State Director of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas at the 56th Biennial State Convention held at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade during March 21-24, 2013 in Eagle Pass, Texas. Lana Harper will serve as State Director of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas during 2013-2015. Harper is a member of the Pan American Round Table of Eagle Pass.
Over 150 Pan American Round Tables of Texas members from 18 Texas cities and four Mexican border cities attended the 56th Biennial State Convention in Eagle Pass. Harper succeeds outgoing State Director Sarah Jane Wise who served during 2011-2013.
The Alliance of the Pan American Round Tables Director General Elsie Perez of Edinburg, Texas congratulated Lana Harper on her election as the 2013-2015 State Director of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas and the Eagle Pass Pan American Round Table for organizing and presenting an outstanding and successful state convention in the native hometown of Pan American Round Table founder Florence Terry Griswold. “Eagle Pass has really outdone itself and presented one of the most outstanding state conventions in the history of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas. The Eagle Pass Pan American Round Table and the City of Eagle Pass have truly welcomed us into Eagle Pass and organized a totally successful state convention,” said Alliance of the Pan American Round Tables Director General Elsie Perez.
Outgoing State Director of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas Sarah Jane Wise installed and pinned newly elected State Director Lana Harper and her fellow Board of Directors during a Sunday, March 24th ceremony at the Eagle Pass International Center for Trade. “Eagle Pass has been an extraordinary host of the state convention and demonstrated that the spirit and vision of our founder, Florence Terry Griswold, a native Maverick Countian, is alive and thriving on this beautiful U.S.-Mexico border community,” said State Director of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas Sarah Jane Wise.
Pan American Round Table of Eagle Pass Director Lucy Mancha also congratulated Lana Harper on her election as State Director of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas as well as all the members of the Eagle Pass Pan American Round Table for organizing, managing, and presenting a highly successful state convention. Mancha stated that the state convention success could not have been possible without the assistance of the City of Eagle Pass Hotel Occupancy Room Tax Committee, whose mission and purpose is to attract tourism and conventions to the City of Eagle Pass.
Newly elected State Director of the Pan American Round Tables of Texas Lana Harper thanked her fellow members for their confidence and trust in her leadership and stated she looks forward to continuing the spirit and vision established by native Maverick Countian pioneering founder Florence Terry Griswold in providing “mutual knowledge, understanding, and friendship among the among the peoples of the Western Hemisphere, and to foster all movements affecting the women and children of the Americas.”
The 56th Biennial State Convention was officially opened on Friday, March 22nd with Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu, a descendant of Levi English, one of the founders of Eagle Pass, welcoming the Pan American Round Tables of Texas members and presenting them with a proclamation from the City of Eagle Pass designating March 2013 as Pan American Round Table month in Eagle Pass. Also welcoming the state convention members to Pan American Round Tables founder Florence Terry Griswold’s native county of Maverick was Maverick County Judge David Saucedo.
All of the visiting members to the state convention expressed their enthusiasm and satisfaction on the great hospitality of the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County during their four day meetings in the community.
