Jose Luis Aguilar to plead guilty in federal money laundering case

Eagle Passan Jose Luis Aguilar, who was indicted on October 18, 2012 by a federal grand jury for money laundering together with Maverick County Commissioner Rudy Heredia and David Gelacio regarding the sale of Commissioner Heredia’s Ford King Ranch Pick-up Truck to a member of a Mexican drug cartel and not reporting the cash sale proceeds upon returning to the United States, will be pleading guilty on March 27, 2013 before United States District Judge Alia Moses of the Western District Court of Texas, Del Rio Division, in Del Rio, Texas.
Co-Defendant David Gelacio also plead guilty on January 24, 2013 before U.S. District Judge Alia Moses and his sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 8, 2013.
Only Maverick County Commissioner Rudy Heredia has not plead guilty in this case and maintains his plea of not guilty in effect. Commissioner Heredia’s case was reset for Docket Call and Re-Arraignment on April 9, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. with U.S. District Judge Alia Moses.
All persons indicted are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a Court-at-Law.
