Eagle Pass City Council presents City Key to Mayor Julian Castro

The City of Eagle Pass City Council presented its highest award, the Key to the City of Eagle Pass, to San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro at the 19th Annual Eagle Pass Business Journal Awards on Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Eagle Pass, Texas. Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu presented the prestigious City Keys award to Mayor Julian Castro before a packed audience of over 400 persons and a standing ovation by the guests.

Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu welcomed Mayor Julian Castro to the City of Eagle Pass and congratulated him for his extraordinary leadership and public service to the citizens of the state of Texas. Mayor Cantu invited Mayor Julian Castro and his beautiful wife, Erica Lira Castro, to the podium as he presented them with the Keys to the City of Eagle Pass.

Mayor Cantu stated that the Eagle Pass City Council, including Mayor Pro-Tem Asalia Casarez, Councilman Rudy Villalpando, Councilman William “Billy” Davis, Councilman Luis E. Sifuentes, and Mayor Cantu, presented Mayor Julian Castro the Keys to the City of Eagle Pass in appreciation of his outstanding leadership to the citizens of Eagle Pass, South Texas, and overall in Texas.

Mayor Julian Castro thanked Mayor Cantu and the Eagle Pass City Council for their collaboration on mutual issues affecting Texans and bestowing him the City of Eagle Pass highest award. Mayor Castro stated he looks forward to working with the City of Eagle Pass on issues of mutual interest.
