The District 29-5A leading Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles will seek to capture the district softball championship against the second-place Del Rio High School Queens when both teams clash on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Del Rio High School Softball Field in Del Rio, Texas. The Lady Eagles sport a 9-1 District 29-5A record with their only loss being at the hands of their arch-rival Del Rio Queens on March 13, 2013 in Eagle Pass.
The Lady Eagles can clinch outright the District 29-5A Softball Championship with a win over the Del Rio Queens squad who will be prepared to battle the Lady Eagles until the last out of the game. The Lady Eagles will more than likely send sophomore southpaw ace pitcher, Krystal De La Cruz, against the Del Rio Queens, who will more than likely send senior ace pitcher, Ari Galvan, to the circle.
The Lady Eagles will seek to avenge their only district loss against the Del Rio Queens this Friday, April 12th. In their March 13th loss, the Lady Eagles committed several errors early in the game which caused them to fall behind and could never quite catch-up to the Del Rio Queens, falling by a score of 8 to 7 at home.
Lady Eagles Head Softball Coach Oscar Ruiz stated that the Lady Eagles are looking forward to Friday’s rematch with the Del Rio Queens and have been practicing hard on their defense to avoid costly errors while the offensive hitting has been very strong in their last five games. Head Coach Oscar Ruiz invites the loyal Lady Eagles softball fans to travel to Del Rio on Friday to support the Lady Eagles in their quest for the District 29-5A Softball Championship against the Del Rio Queens.
