City Council selects two finalists for City Manager position

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Council unanimously approved two finalists for the vacant City Manager position, current Interim City Manager Gloria Barrientos and former Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Jesus Sanchez, at a special meeting held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the City Council Chambers located at City Hall, 100 South Monroe Street, in Eagle Pass.

The Eagle Pass City Council voted to interview the two finalists one more time before making a final decision at a future meeting. Gloria Barrientos and Jesus Sanchez were selected from a list of eight candidates previously interviewed and selected by the City Council.

The City of Eagle Pass City Manager vacancy surfaced when former City Manager Daniel Valenzuela resigned to accept the City of San Angelo City Manager position.

The Eagle Pass City Council named then Assistant City Manager Gloria Barrientos as Interim City Manager until a new City Manager is selected.
