Eagle Pass High School names top 25 graduating seniors

Eagle Pass High School Principal Rudy Bowles and his administration announced the top 25 graduating seniors of the Class of 2013 at the Eagle Pass Independent School District’s Top Five Percent Honor Graduates Banquet held on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the EPISD Student Activity Center Fine Arts Center in Eagle Pass, Texas.
The 2013 Valedictorian is Maximo Gonzalez with a 103.72 GPA and the Salutatorian is Alejandra Garcia with a 103.51 GPA. Gonzalez is undecided which university he is going to attend as he has several offers of admission from state and national universities and is one of five Gates Millennium Scholars from Eagle Pass High School. Garcia plans to attend Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas and is a recipient of a Minnie Stevens Piper Scholarship Award and of the BP GeoForce Scholarship.
The third-ranked student is Lynced Torres with a 103.20 GPA and plans to attend Texas Tech University, fourth is Luis A. Cabrera-Ortiz with a 102.97 GPA and plans to attend Texas A & M University-College Station, fifth is Rogelio Garcia with a 102.85 GPA and plans to attend Texas A & M University-College Station, sixth is Monica Trevino with a 102.28 GPA and plans to attend Brown University, seventh is Roberto Espinoza, Jr. with a 101.48 GPA and plans to attend Texas Tech University, eighth is Linda Leticia Correa with a 101.10 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, ninth is Izaak Ruiz with a 100.96 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, and tenth is April Anahi Trevino with a 100.94 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin.
The eleventh-ranked student is Paula Flores with a 100.83 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, twelfth is Hector M. Cruz with a 100.61 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, thirteenth is Janie Delhi Coronado with a 100.55 GPA and plans to attend Saint Edward’s University, fourteenth is Daniela Rosiles with a 100.02 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, fifteenth is Fernando Ojeda with a 99.93 GPA and plans to attend Texas A & M University-College Station, sixteenth is Andrea Lissette Pantoja with a 99.78 GPA and plans to attend Texas State University, seventeenth is Sofia Rodriguez with a 99.25 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, eighteenth is Daniela Fuentes with a 99.02 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, nineteenth is Judith Gonzalez with a 98.97 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, and twentieth is Melissa Chong with a 98.89 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio.
The twenty-first ranked student is Jessica Valdes with a 98.76 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, twenty-second is Aide Alondra Rodriguez with a 98.40 GPA and plans to attend St. Mary’s University, twenty-third is Jessica Marie Garcia with a 98.32 GPA and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, twenty-fourth is Arturo Cabral with a 98.21 GPA and plans to attend Texas A & M University-College Station, and twenty-fifth is Mario Vela-Cardenas with a 98.02 GPA and plans to attend Texas A & M University-College Station.
Eagle Pass High School Principal Rudy Bowles congratulated the top 25 graduates and their parents on their outstanding academic achievement. Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Gilberto Gonzalez told the honor graduates to stay hungry and thirsty for knowledge and personal development in college and wishes each of them the best in their college studies.
Also attending were Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees President Ignacio Saucedo, Vice-President Glenna Purcell, Lupita Fuentes, Ramon Ramirez, and Claudio Heredia.
