Eagles to face La Joya Coyotes in Bi-District Baseball Championship

The Eagle Pass High School Eagles will face the perennially strong La Joya High School Coyotes in the 2013 U.I.L. Region IV-5A Baseball Bi-District Championship in a best of three series with game one commencing on Friday, May 3rd, at 7 p.m. at the Laredo Veterans Baseball Stadium in Laredo, Texas and game two is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, at 2 p.m. at the same field, and, if necessary, game three will follow 30 minutes after game two.
The second place District 29-5A Eagle Pass Eagles enter the bi-district championship with an overall season record of 18-10-1 and are led by pitchers Devon Torres, Gilbert Villalobos, and Dillon Elguezabal and offensively by Eric Gonzalez, Mando Lopez, Diego Gaona, Juan Lopez, R.J. Ruiz, Jacoup Roiz, Javy Cardona, Kevin Chisum, and Devon Torres.
The third place District 30-5A La Joya Coyotes are perenially strong and play fundamental baseball.
The Eagles are under the direction of head coach Reynol Mendoza and assistant coaches Heriberto Roiz and Henry Silva.
The Eagles versus La Joya Coyotes bi-district baseball championship series promises to be another exciting and highly competitive series between the two teams. Loyal Eagles baseball fans are invited and encouraged to attend the Eagles-Coyotes bi-district series in Laredo this week and support the Eagles to victory.
