…Severe Weather – Flash Flood Warning…
The Eagle Pass Emergency Operation Center has issued the following warning for those who live, work, or visits our community. The main threats will be heavy rains. Over the past several days, many areas have had several inches of rain, thus a Flash Flood Warning has been extended till 5 pm today for Maverick County. Creeks and streams may go over their banks very quickly which may cause some road closures please be aware some streets may have barricades.
Persons who live in low lying areas and those who live in weak structures should take all necessary precautions to safeguard from possible severe weather and flooding. We have opened a shelter at the San Luis Center if shelter is required please call the Police Department at 773-9044. Extreme caution should be taken by those driving and especially tonight since low water crossings will likely flood. If it is not necessary to go out please remain in your homes and keep safe. Remember……Turn Around – Don’t Drown!
