Lady Eagle Keanna Cisneros signs Letter of Intent to play softball at St. Mary’s University

Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagle standout softball player, Keanna Cisneros, signed a letter of intent to play collegiate softball with the St. Mary’s University Rattlers in San Antonio, Texas at a letter-signing ceremony held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Lecture Room at the Eagle Pass High School amidst family, friends, coaches, and teammates.
Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles head softball coach Oscar Ruiz announced that he was pleased to inform that senior Lady Eagle Keanna Cisneros had chosen to play collegiate softball at the highly competitive program at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio under the direction of Head Coach Donna Fields. The St. Mary’s University Rattlers play under the auspices of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II in the Heartland Conference.
The St. Mary’s University Rattlers won the 2013 Heartland Conference Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament where they fell to eventual champion Texas Women’s University Pioneers and finished with an impressive 45-15 record during the 2013 season.
Lady Eagle Keanna Cisneros joins the St. Mary’s University Rattlers as a utility player with experience as both an infielder and outfielder and a strong offensive bat and lighting quick speed on the base paths.
Cisneros stated that joining the St. Mary’s University Rattlers softball program is a dream come true for her and looks forward to enrolling at St. Mary’s University in August and playing for the blue and gold Rattlers during the 2013-2014 season. Cisneros added she looks forward to joining former Lady Eagle standout Alex Rodriguez, a sophomore with the Rattlers during the 2013 season, and playing for Head Coach Donna Fields.
Keanna Cisneros is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raul Cisneros of Eagle Pass. Cisneros thanked all of the coaches that have developed her softball skills, teammates, and her parents for supporting her interest in playing softball and traveling with her across the State of Texas and country throughout the past 12 years.
