The tragic accident at the Texas Giant Roller Coaster in Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas on Friday, July 19, 2013, claimed the life of Rosa Ayala Gaona, age 51, a native of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, who recently had moved to Dallas.
Rosa Ayala Gaona went to the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park with her son and both got into the famous Texas Giant Roller Coaster ride in separate cars. A witness told authorities that Rosa Ayala Gaona told the Texas Giant Roller Coaster attendant that she did not think her safety t-lap bar had properly locked because she only heard one click and the attendant told her that if she heard a click it was secured and locked.
Ayala Gaona fell off the Texas Giant Roller Coaster shortly after it had climbed to its 14 story-high peak and began to roll down the track. Ayala Gaona died from multiple trauma as a result of the fall and accident.
The July 19th Texas Giant Roller Coaster accident is under investigation to determine what caused the accident.
