Floyd Mayweather defeats Saul “Canelo” Alvarez

American boxer Floyd Mayweather defeated formerly unbeaten Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for the World Boxing Championship (WBC) on September 14, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada by a score card of 117-111, 116-112, and 114-114.
Mayweather won his 45 consecutive boxing fight without any defeats over the younger challenger Alvarez. Mayweather improves to 45-0 while Alvarez goes to 42-1-1.
Mayweather dominated the fight showing his defensive prowess and speed working punches to Alvarez’s chin and body during the fight.
Boxing fans were surprised to have seen the 114-114 tied score from one of the three judges.
Floyd “Money” Mayweather remains undefeated and continues his dominance as the best pound for pound boxer in the world. Many boxing fans are demanding to see a rematch between Mayweather and Alvarez in the future.
