H.E.B. 18th Annual Feast of Sharing Thanksgiving Dinner Volunteers Needed

Eagle Pass H.E.B. Store Director Victor Garcia and Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sandra Martinez announced that planning for the 18th Annual H.E.B. Feast of Sharing Thanksgiving Dinner is underway and volunteers are needed to successfully host the annual Thanksgiving Dinner in the community.
Sandra Martinez stated that any person, group, organization, school, and entity who wishes to volunteer during the 18th Annual H.E.B. Feast of Sharing Thanksgiving Dinner need to register at the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce, located at 400 Garrison Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas. Any and all persons and organizations must register by no later than November 15th at the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce by visiting the Chamber’s office or calling them at (830) 773-3224. Volunteers are welcomed and needed to make this year’s dinner a success as previous years. Volunteering is open to the public.
Last year there were a total of 7,300 Thanksgiving dinners served during the 17th Annual H.E.B. Feast of Sharing Thanksgiving Dinner, said Victor Garcia of H.E.B.. There were 6,300 dinners served at last year’s event and another 1,000 dinners were served to home bound persons within the community. “We look forward to another successful Feast of Sharing Thanksgiving Dinner in Eagle Pass and Maverick County in 2013 through the assistance of volunteers,” said Garcia.
Although the exact date of this year’s dinner has not been confirmed, the Feast of Sharing Committee is tentatively working with a target date of Sunday, November 24th, at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade.
