14 Candidates Apply for Eagle Pass Housing Authority Executive Director Position

The Housing Authority of the City of Eagle Pass, Texas Board of Commissioners held a Workshop Meeting on Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Community Room of El Centenario Hi-Rise Building, located at 2095 East Main Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas to consult with legal counsel regarding the employment screening process and review of applications submitted for the vacant Executive Director position.

Eagle Pass Housing Authority Interim Executive Director Eliza Cano announced to the Board of Commissioners that a total of 14 candidates had submitted an application for the Executive Director position as of the October 15, 2013 deadline.

Cano stated that the 14 candidates that applied for the Executive Director position of the Eagle Pass Housing Authority include: Edgar Eduardo Aguinaga of Eagle Pass, Texas; Jesus Orlando Botello of Eagle Pass, Texas; Eddie Burnett of Weatherford, Texas; Ofelia Calles-Riojas of Eagle Pass, Texas; Arturo Delgado of Eagle Pass, Texas; Jesus “Chuy” Garcia of Fort Stockton, Texas; Raymundo E. Herrera of Eagle Pass, Texas; Patrick B. Howard of San Antonio, Texas; Oscar Vasquez Moreno of Eagle Pass, Texas; Abelardo Reyes, Jr. of Alamo, Texas; Roy E. Rogers of Sicklerville, New Jersey; Cary Mark Wesley of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Maria D. Velasquez of Eagle Pass, Texas; and Cesar Villa of Eagle Pass, Texas.

The Eagle Pass Housing Authority Board of Commissioners also reviewed the applications of each candidate and will invite some of the candidates for an interview commencing on Monday, October 28th, and on Saturday, November 2nd, announced Cano.

Eagle Pass Housing Authority Board of Commissioners present at the October 21st meeting were Chairperson Ana B. Gonzalez, Vice-Chairperson Jose Gonzalez, Delfina Garza Morales, and Ricardo E. Calderon. Absent was Commissioner Pete Venegas. Also present was Interim Executive Director Eliza Cano.
