Eagle Pass and Maverick County Sales Tax revenues increased in September 2013

Both the City of Eagle Pass and County of Maverick, Texas enjoyed sales and use tax revenues increases during the month of September 2013, announced Texas State Comptroller Susan McCombs.
The City of Eagle Pass received a total of $375,293 during September 2013 compared to $361,128.80 for the same month in 2012, showing an increase of 1.039 %. The City of Eagle Pass is on a pace to break its total sales and use tax revenues earned in 2012 of $4,437,275.67 with each of the first nine months in 2013 showing an increase than its 2012 mark. For the first nine months of 2013, the City of Eagle Pass has received $3,536,000.03.
The County of Maverick received a total of $203,939.09 for September 2013 compared to $198,526.50 for the same month in 2012, an increase of 1.027 %. The County of Maverick has had increases in seven of the nine months in 2013 compared to 2012 and is also on pace to surpassing its 2012 total sales and use tax revenues during 2013. In the first nine months of 2013, the County of Maverick has a total of $1,881,251.18.
Both the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County 2013 sales and use tax revenue increases show that the economy of Maverick County is steadily growing and prospering. It is anticipated that both entities will enjoy continued sales and use tax revenues during the remainder of 2013 and in 2014 with the growth of international trade and commerce, the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas play, and retail sales.
