Eagle Pass Man Attempts Suicide cutting wrist
(PRESS RELEASE) – On Tuesday, October 8, 2013, Maverick County Sheriff’s Department Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 131 in reference to a possible suicide. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a black in color Chevy Silverado Pickup 1500 which was traveling Southwest on Hwy 131. The deputy then conducted a traffic stop in the black in color Chevy. Deputy made contact with male driver who was covered in blood from a deep laceration from his left wrist area. Deputy asked male driver to step out of the vehicle and asked him what had happened. Male subject advised he had slashed his wrist with a Winchester 12 knife. Deputies commenced first aid on the male driver to stop the large laceration which was bleeding until Eagle Pass Fire Department Rescue arrived and started to give medical attention to the driver. Male driver was transported to the Fort Duncan Medical Center for further evaluation. Vehicle was released to relatives.
