EPISD Educational Improvement Council Meeting
The Eagle Pass ISD Education Improvement Council held its first meeting for the year at 5:00 on Tuesday, October 1 at 5:00 p.m. in the EPISD District Service Center Board Room. Superintendent, Gilberto Gonzalez, welcomed the group and thanked the newly elected members for serving on this very important committee. Mr. Gonzalez appointed Mr. Samuel Mijares, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction to serve as Committee Chairman for the 2013-2014 school year.
The Districtwide Education Improvement Council is comprised of 32 members and includes Campus Representatives, Program Directors, Business and Community Members and Parents. Elected representatives for expired terms this school year are: Yvonne Ibarra, 3rd Grade – Graves El.; Sonia Fernandez, 4th Grade – Lee El.; Bertha Ritchie, 5th Grade – Darr El.; Sandra Perez, 6th Grade – Darr El.; Sandra Diaz, Language Arts – EPHS; Gerardo Lopez and Adrian Ordaz – Enrichment, Memorial JH.; Non-teaching – John Cox, DSC, Norma Serna, DSC and Jesus Diaz-Wever, CCWHS. New selected Community Representative is Graciela Gonzalez.
