Maverick County Baby resurrected after drowning in bathtub
(PRESS RELEASE) – On Tuesday, October 10, 2013, at approximately 12:00 am Maverick County Sheriff’s Department Deputies were dispatched to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center in reference to a 10 month old male toddler that had possibly drowned in bathroom tub. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Doctors who stated that a 10 month old male toddler was transported by Eagle Pass Fire Department EMS with no vitals.
Doctors further stated that they then revived toddler and was treated. Deputies then made contact with the mother of the toddler by bed #12 who stated that she was inside of her residence with all her children. She further stated that she was helping her 6 year old daughter with homework and was also setting up bath tub for her 1 year old son. She stated that she then noticed her 10 month toddler missing from the room and found him in the bathroom with his head inside the water of the bath tub. She then called Eagle Pass Fire Department EMS to said location in which EMS arrived and started to perform CPR on the male toddler. The toddler was transported by Airlife to Christus Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital at San Antonio, Texas for further medical treatment and is currently in stable condition. Deputies have notified Child Protective Services and advised them of the situation. Case is under investigation.
