… Possible heavy rainfall could affect our region for the next 4 to 5 days …
The City of Eagle Pass Emergency Operations Center has received news of possible heavy rainfall for our region of 1 – 3 inches over the next 4 to 5 days. Highest chances of rain will occur on Saturday and Sunday, and again on Tuesday and Wednesday. Many of these storms will produce heavy downpours; some areas could get 1 – 2 inches of rain in a very short period of time causing minor flooding of low areas, creeks and low water crossings in urban areas.
Persons who live in low-lying areas should take all necessary precautions to safeguard from potential flooding. Also, due to the upcoming Columbus Holiday there are many outdoor events scheduled. Residents and visitors need to be “weather-aware” and keep a constant watch on weather and road conditions. Remember if water is over the road…….Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

Lluvias podrían afectar nuestra región durante los próximos 4 o 5 días
El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia ha recibido noticias de posibles lluvias fuertes para nuestra región de 1 a 3 pulgadas en los próximos 4 a 5 días. La probabilidad mas alta es para el Sábado y Domingo y después otra vez el Martes y Miércoles. Estas tormentas producirán aguaceros fuertes; en algunas áreas podrían recibir de 1 a 2 pulgadas de lluvia en un período muy corto de tiempo causando inundaciones menores en lugares bajos, arroyos, y cruces de bajo nivel en zonas urbanas.
Las personas que viven en zonas bajas deben tomar las precauciones necesarias para protegerse de posibles inundaciones. Adicionalmente, debido al festejo del Día de Cristóbal Colon, hay muchos eventos al aire libre programados para este fin de semana. Residentes y visitantes deben mantenerse “conscientes del clima” y mantenerse vigilantes de las condiciones meteorológicas y de las carreteras. Recuerde que si el agua está sobre la carretera…De La Vuelta, No Se Ahogue!
