EPHS Lady Eagle Setter Jamie Donley named CO-MVP in District 29-5A Volleyball

Three year veteran Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles setter Jamie Donley was selected by the District 29-5A volleyball head coaches as the 2013 Co-Most Valuable Player together with Laredo United High School Lady Longhorn Ale Barrientos, announced Eagle Pass Lady Eagles Head Volleyball Coach Lucy Hooper-Gloria. Donley led the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles this year to a share of the District 29-5A Volleyball Championship as the team setter and captain and a state playoff berth in the UIL Region IV-5A Bi-District Championship with an overall season record of 23-12 and 9-3 in District 29-5A standings. The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles shared the 2013 District 29-5A Volleyball Championship with the Laredo Alexander Lady Bulldogs and Del Rio Queens.
Other Eagle Pass Lady Eagles named to the 2013 District 29-5A All-District Volleyball Team include Camille Pina who was named the Outstanding Libero, Karina Yebra and Riane Garcia were named to the First Team, Amanda Gonzalez was named to the Second Team, Vivian Ramirez and Claire Valdez were named Honorable Mention, and named to the All-Academic Team (94 GPA or higher) were Jamie Donley, Karina Yebra, Amanda Gonzalez, Victoria Torralba, Camille Piña, Claire Valdez, Amanda Grebenok, Sophie Gomez, and Linda Hesles.
C. C. Winn High School Lady Mavericks named to the 2013 District 29-5A All-District Team include Jennifer Rodriguez to the First Team, Ale Galvan to the Second Team, and Cassandra Flores was named Honorable Mention.
Other volleyball players receiving 2013 District 29-5A All-District Honors include Meagen Menchaca of Laredo Alexander as Outstanding Hitter, Kyla Gladssen of Del Rio as Outstanding Blocker, Adriana Galvan of Del Rio as Outstanding Setter, and Melanie Morin as Outstanding Newcomer of the Year.
Also selected to the 2013 District 29-5A First Team include Jasmin Idrigo of Laredo Alexander,Kendall Alsup and Brenda Duran of Del Rio, Brenda Lara of Laredo LBJ, Michelle Castro of Laredo United, and Janelle Rodriguez of Laredo United South.
Also named to the Second Team Include Leslie Garza and Annita Morales of Laredo Alexander, Kelly Carranza and Sabrina Gomez of Del Rio, Victoria Lara of Laredo LBJ, Gaby Senties and Alicia Alvarez of Laredo United, Ashley Ruiz and Karina Alba of Laredo United South.
Also selected as Honorable Mention include Lauren Brown and Kiana Briones of Del Rio, Aimee Ruiz and Deneen Rodriguez of Laredo United, Ashley Gutierrez of Laredo United South, Annabelle Bustamante of Laredo United, Karina Moreno of Laredo LBJ, and Alejandra Trevino of Laredo Alexander.
