Lady Eagles Monica Flores, Sandra Mendoza, and Krystal Perez sign College Softball Letters of Intent

Amidst a packed Eagle Pass High School gymnasium, Lady Eagles Monica Flores, Sandra Mendoza, and Krystal Perez signed College Letters of Intent to play collegiate softball on Friday, November 15, 2013, at a ceremony held at 10 A.M. attended by Eagle Pass Independent School District Athletic Director, Edward Graf, Eagle Pass High School Principal, Vale Moreno, Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles Softball Head Coach Oscar Ruiz, Eagle Pass High School coaches, trainers, and teachers, family, friends, and students.
Lady Eagle Monica Flores is a senior, four-year letterman, plays center-field, holds the Lady Eagles homerun record with 22 round trippers, named to District 29-5A All-District First Team, and is the daughter of Cesar and Becky Flores of Eagle Pass. Flores signed a letter of intent to play collegiate softball with the University of Incarnate Word Cardinals, a member of the Southland Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Lady Eagle Sandra Mendoza is a senior, four-year letterman, plays short stop, named District 29-5A Most Valuable Player twice, named All-State Third Team, and is the daughter of Reynol and Tinna Mendoza of Eagle Pass. Mendoza inked a letter of intent to play collegiate softball with the University of Texas at Arlington Mavericks, a member of the Sun Belt Conference in Division I of the NCAA.
Lady Eagle Krystal Perez is a senior, four-year letterman, plays left-field, named to District 29-5A All-District Second Team, and is the daughter of Mario and Rosa Perez of Eagle Pass. Perez signed a letter of intent to play collegiate softball with the Texas A & M International University Dustdevils, a member of the Heartland Conference in Division II of the NCAAA.
Lady Eagles Softball Head Coach Oscar Ruiz was the Master of Ceremony for the Letter of Intent signing ceremony. Coach Ruiz stated that Monica Flores has developed into the finest center fielder and home run hitter in Lady Eagles history. Ruiz added that Sandra Mendoza has developed into the fastest and highest batting average hitter in Lady Eagles history. Ruiz concluded that Krystal Perez has developed into the finest slapping hitter and left-fielder in Lady Eagles history. Ruiz noted that all three young ladies’ success is attributed to their outstanding dedication, discipline, and commitment to softball. Ruiz wished them the best of luck in their senior and collegiate softball careers.
Eagle Pass Independent School District Athletic Director Edward Graf congratulated the three young ladies on their collegiate softball scholarships and wished them the best in college.
Eagle Pass High School Principal Vale Moreno commended all three young ladies on their softball success and wished them the best in both their academic and athletic success in college .
