Maverick County Veterans Day Ceremony to be held November 11th

The Maverick County Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8562 will host the 2013 Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. sharp. The Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at the Maverick County Lake adjacent to the Veterans Memorial Park. The Veterans Day Ceremony is open to all veterans, family members of veterans, local public and business leaders, and the general public.
The keynote speaker at the 2013 Maverick County Veterans Day Ceremony is Captain (Retired) Alexander J. Shockey. Joining Captain (Retired) Shockey at the ceremony will be the C.C. Winn High School Thundering Mavericks Marching Band, the Cadets of the Texas 92nd Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFJROTC), singer Jessica Cavazos, VFW Chaplain Rogelio Reyna, VFE Assistant Chaplain Esteban Salas, VFW Service Officer Gary Sapoff, Sammy Lerma, Rafael Chancey, and local veterans’ organizations.
Both veterans and public members from the United States and Mexico will attend and participate in the ceremony. American veterans who participated in a foreign war will be honored and recognized during the ceremony. Veterans from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Grenada War, Iraq I & II War, Afghanistan War, and other armed conflicts will be honored for their love and service to their country. The ceremony is under the direction of VFW Program Director Ruben R. Salazar.
The public is cordially invited to attend and participate in the 2013 Maverick County Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11th at 11:00 A.M. sharp.
