Maverick County Commissioners Court approved the naming of Raul Trevino to the vacant Maverick County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 Board of Directors at their Regular Meeting held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Commissioners Courtroom in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Former Maverick County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 Board of Director Abdallah Moses resigned from his Board position, creating a vacancy which the M.C.W.I.D. No. 1 Board of Directors were unable to agree on a replacement for Moses after four deadlocked votes of 2-2 were cast during the past months. As a result of the M.C.W.C.I.D. No. 1 Board of Directors dead-lock, the County Judge is allowed to name a replacement to their Board of Directors upon a vacancy.
Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo named Raul Trevino to fill the vacancy on the M.C.W.C.I.D. No. 1 Board of Directors, citing Trevino’s experience in management and public service as former President of the Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees, former Mayor of the City of Eagle Pass, Texas, and most recently as former Warden of the GEO, Inc. operated Maverick County Detention Center. County Judge Saucedo noted that Trevino will provide fair and impartial leadership to the M.C.W.C.I.D. No. 1 Board at a time that it is in grid-lock. County Judge Saucedo stated that he appreciates Trevino’s “honesty as he has always been upfront where he stands.”
Newly appointed M.C.W.C.I.D. No. 1 Board of Director Raul Trevino will take his Oath of Office at the next Board meeting of the M.C.W.C.I.D. No. 1.
