Mona Jessica Barrera named Queen of 23rd Annual Eagle Pass Border Lions Club Black & White Ball

A sold-out audience at the City of Eagle Pass International Center of Trade attended the 23rd Annual Eagle Pass Border Lions Club Black and White Ball on Saturday, December 7, 2013, as Miss Mona Jessica Barrera was the lucky young lady who randomly selected the Queen of the Black and White Ball envelope among 17 contestants to the applause of the audience.
Joining Queen Mona Jessica Barrera in the 23rd Annual Black and White Ball royalty court are Miss Gabriella Vanessa Garcia as Princess, Miss Stephanie Even as Duchess, and Miss Rebecca Hughes as Marquis. A total of 17 young Eagle Pass ladies participated in the prestigious 23rd Annual Eagle Pass Border Lions Club Black and White Ball debuting before society as the future leaders and women of this community. Participating in the 23rd Annual Black and White Ball were Albany Aldape, Amanda Monique Alvar, Amanda Nicolle Appleton, Krista Baca, Mona Jessica Barrera, Kaitylyn De Luna, Dariela Ethredge, Stephanie Even, Katlyn Flores, Nina Sofia Flores, Gabriella Vanessa Garcia, Rebecca Hughes, Melanie Marie Mendoza, Corinna Lynell Rodriguez, Alexia Denise Saucedo, Samantha Irene Sanchez, and Andrea Villarreal.
Longtime Eagle Pass radio personality and businessman Humberto “Beto” Garza was the Master of Ceremony for the elite Black and White Ball hosted by the Eagle Pass Border Lions Club. The young ladies randomly selected one of the 17 envelopes to determine the 2013 Black and White Royalty Court. Miss Mona Jessica Barrera is the daughter of Rodolfo “Fito” Barrera, Jr. and Mona Krezdorn.
Guests enjoyed dinner and dance with a full orchestra band from Laredo, Texas.
