Senator Carlos I. Uresti presented Christmas gifts to local children and senior citizens

State Senator Carlos I. Uresti, District 19 (D-San Antonio), presented Christmas gifts to Eagle Pass children at the Teaching and Mentoring Communities Headstart Center located at Diaz Street and senior citizens at the Eagle Pass Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located at 2550 Zacatecas Drive on Wednesday and Thursday, December 18-19, 2013 as part of his annual Senator Santa Campaign.
Children at the Teaching and Mentoring Communities Headstart Center had big smiles and laughs as Senator Santa (Carlos I. Uresti) presented them with a new toy or gift that was age and gender appropriate for each child. TMC Headstart Center Director Rodolfo Lopez thanked Senator Carlos I. Uresti for remembering the young children of Eagle Pass seasonal migrant families and visiting the community. Senator Santa also presented each parent present at the Thursday, December 19th, ceremony a 2014 Calendar of the Texas State Capitol. TMC teachers and staff welcomed Senator Carlos I. Uresti to their Headstart Center while parents thanked Senator Uresti for his caring and compassionate gifts to their children.
Senior Citizens at the Eagle Pass Nursing and Rehabilitation Center were excited and enthusiastic about Senator Santa’s visit to their center on Wednesday, December 18th. Senator Santa presented each of the senior citizens a gift including a coffee cup and a 2014 Calendar of the Texas State Capitol. Eagle Pass Nursing and Rehabilitation Center management and staff thanked Senator Carlos I, Uresti for his genuine concern regarding the well-being and health of Eagle Pass senior citizens.
Accompanying Senator Santa was Frosty the Snowman and Santa’s Elves to help out with the distribution of gifts. Senator Carlos I. Uresti’s Eagle Pass office representative, Hellen Martinez, coordinated Senator Santa’s visit to Eagle Pass. Children, parents, senior citizens, and staff all enjoyed a great time visiting Senator Santa and taking a photograph with Santa for the memory book.
