Yolanda Lopez Mauricio registers for Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 2 post

Maverick County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 Board of Director and Precinct 2 resident, Yolanda Lopez Mauricio, registered as a candidate for the Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 2 position with the Maverick County Democratic Party on Saturday, November 30, 2013, in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, Yolanda Lopez Mauricio took the Oath of Candidacy for the County Commissioner Precinct 2 post stating Precinct 2 residents and Maverick Countians deserve a County Commissioner and County Government dedicated to the best interests of the people and who will work full-time solving Maverick County’s financial crisis and corruption issues.
With Lopez-Mauricio’s registration, there are at least four candidates now vying for the Democratic Party’s nomination for County Commissioner Precinct 2 including current appointed-County Commissioner Asalia Casares, former Interim County Commissioner Precinct 2 Daniela Renee Flores-Aleman, and businesswoman Rosy Cantu. There is a possibility that more candidates may register for County Commissioner Precinct 2 before the December 9th registration deadline.
Previous County Commissioner Precinct 2 Rodolfo “Rudy” Heredia resigned after he was indicted in two separate federal criminal cases and later plead guilty to one count in one of the two cases and remains detained without bond pending his sentencing before a federal district judge in Del Rio, Texas.
There are a total of 14 public offices in Maverick County scheduled for election in the November 2014 Texas general election with both the Democratic and Republican parties holding their respective party primary on March 4th. The 14 political offices available in both the March and November 2014 elections include County Judge, County Commissioner Precinct 1, County Commissioner Precinct 2, County Commissioner Precinct 4, District Clerk, County Clerk, County Treasurer, Justice of the Peace Precincts 1, 2, 3-1, and 4, 293rd Judicial District Judge, 365th Judicial District Judge, State Representative District 74, and U.S. House of Representatives District 23.
