2014 Maverick County Jr. Livestock Show & Sale breaks sales record

The 2014 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show and Sale (MCJLS) broke its previous sales record of $274,000 on Saturday, January 25, 2014, with a gross total sales of $277,000 for the 160 animals sold at this year’s livestock show and sale, announced Tim Hardt, President of the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association.
The highlight of the 2014 MCJLS was the sales price of Janelle Ramos’ Grand Champion Steer for $14,000 by Ancira Eagle Pass Automotive, the Grand Champion Hog exhibited by Pablos de la Garza was purchased for $8,500 by Dos Republicas Coal Partnership, the Grand Champion Goat shown by Hayden Carcasi sold for $6,200 by Ancira Eagle Pass Automotive, and the Grand Champion Lamb exhibited by Arturo Molina was purchased for $5,200 by Danny’s Western Wear.
The Reserve Champions also brought high prices to the 2014 MCJLS with David Ramos’ Reserve Champion Steer selling for $5,900 to Peter Rabbit and Minit-Mart, the Reserve Champion Hog exhibited by Marcus Cisneros was purchased for $4,000 by IBC Bank-Eagle Pass, the Reserve Champion Goat shown by Orlando Molina was bought for $4,000 by H.E..B., and the Reserve Champion Lamb exhibited by Linda Molina sold for $3,100 to Knickerbocker, Heredia, Jasso & Stewart.
The 2014 MCJLS was a great success benefitting the youth of Maverick County.
