Dead Body found on FM 2030 in Maverick County

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber announced that a dead body was found near a business on FM 2030 in Chula Vista Subdivision in southern Eagle Pass, Maverick County, Texas at approximately 9 P.M. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

The case is under investigation by the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department. The body of Robert Lee Herrera, age 46, was located in what investigators suspect may have been victim of a hit and run automobile accident with the driver fleeing the scene of the accident near the intersection of FM 2030 and El Indio Highway adjacent to the Casino Grocery.

Sheriff Tom Schmerber requests the public that if anyone has any information regarding the automobile which struck Robert Lee Herrera or the driver of said vehicle to please call the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department at (830) 773-2321.
