Eagle Pass ISD joins Texas school districts in honoring school boards
Our school district and community benefit every day from the tireless work and countless hours contributed by a small group of seven. These local volunteers are elected by their constituents and receive no compensation for their work as public servants. These men and women are the school board members of the Eagle Pass Independent School District.
January is School Board Recognition Month, and the Eagle Pass Independent School District joins school districts throughout Texas in recognizing their board members for their dedicated leadership in public education and continued service to our students. EPISD will honor its board on Tuesday, January 14, with special board recognition during the scheduled board meeting.
School Board Recognition Month helps build awareness about the many invaluable contributions board members make to our school districts and communities, and gives district staff and patrons the opportunity to show their appreciation to these elected officials. EPISD is grateful for its seven-member board, which devotes countless volunteered hours governing our school district, while keeping the best interest of all students at heart.
Even though we are making a special effort in January to show appreciation to our board members, we realize their many contributions reflect a year-round commitment. They generously give of themselves to ensure that decisions affecting our schools are made by representatives of this community, people who are close to our schools and know our teachers, parents, and students. In these challenging times, they face difficult choices and take on critical responsibilities.
Their ultimate goal is always focused on the future success of the children in our district.
