11 Persons Nominated for Citizen of the Year

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce is preparing for its 87th annual banquet where, among other features, the Chamber will present the 2013 Citizen of the Year award. The event will be held Wednesday, February 12th, at the Eagle Pass International Center for Trade starting at 7:00 p.m.

“We are very pleased at the response to the Chamber’s Citizen of the Year award program received this year from our local residents,” said Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sandra Martinez. “The intention of this program is to promote volunteerism and recognize those who give freely and generously of their time and efforts to help others and make Eagle Pass a better place for all.”

This year, a total of eleven nominations were received, with two of the nominations being for the same person. Nominees for the 2013 Citizen of the Year award are Mrs. Becky Ballou, Mrs. Rosinna Bowles, Mrs. Romelia Ortiz Cardona, Mr. Jose De La Garza, Dr. Carlos Hernandez, Mrs. Angelica Mosqueda Huerta, Ms. Mary D. Hughes, Mr. Marvin Richardson, Ms. Diana L. Sanchez, and Mr. Jeff Taylor, Sr.
