C.C. Winn High School Mavericks going to District 29-5A and Eagle Pass High School Eagles move up to District 29-6A

The University Interscholastic League (U.I.L.) announced early Monday, February 3, 2014, the new athletic and academic alignments of both C.C. Winn High School and Eagle Pass High School for the 2014-2016 biennium in San Antonio, Texas.
The C.C. Winn High School Mavericks are going to a new district designated as District 29-5A, formerly District 29-4A, which includes Castroville Medina Valley High School Panthers, San Antonio Southside High School Cardinals, Somerset High School Bulldogs, Uvalde High School Coyotes, Laredo Nixon High School Mustangs, Laredo Martin High School Tigers, Laredo Cigarroa High School Toros, and Eagle Pass C.C. Winn High School Mavericks.
The Eagle Pass High School Eagles are remaining in the same district but with a new classification as District 29-6A, formerly District 29-5A, which includes Del Rio High School Rams, Laredo Alexander High School Bulldogs, Laredo United High School Longhorns, Laredo United South High School Panthers, Laredo Johnson High School Wolves, and Eagle Pass High School Eagles.
The new district alignments will take effect in August 2014 with the start of volleyball and football seasons and continue for the next two years until February 2016 when the next alignment review is done.
Congratulations to the C.C. Winn High School Mavericks in their new district alignment and to the Eagle Pass High School Eagles for staying in the same district but reclassified as 6A now.
