C.C. Winn Lady Mavericks split 2-2 at Mission Softball Tournament

The thundering C. C. Winn High School Lady Mavericks split their four games, winning two and losing two, at the elite Mission Fastpitch Invitational Tournament during February 13-15, 2014, at Mission, Texas, gaining valuable experience against the Rio Grande Valley’s finest softball teams.
The Lady Mavericks opened tournament play with a key victory against the potent McAllen Memorial High School Lady Mustangs 3-2 on Thursday, February 13, 2014. Standout right hand pitcher Brittany Perez earned the win for the Lady Mavericks.
The Lady Mavericks fell to the perennial playoff contender Brownsville Porter High School Cowgirls 5-4 on Friday, February 14th, while standout sophomore right hand pitcher Amberly Garza took the loss, limiting the Cowgirls to only four hits.
The Lady Mavericks dropped their next game against the powerful McAllen High School Lady Bulldogs 5-3 on Friday, February 14th, while freshman southpaw hurler Marychelo Flores took the loss.
The Lady Mavericks bounced back on Saturday, February 15th, defeating the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial High School Lady Wolverines 12-5 to split with a pair of wins and losses at the Mission Fastpitch Tournament while freshman right hand pitcher Ana Aguado earned the victory.
The C.C. Winn Lady Mavericks travel to San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, February 18th, to tackle the San Antonio Kennedy High School Lady Rockets at 7 P.M. in the Alamo City in a non-district game.
