Eagle Pass Lady Eagles go undefeated in San Antonio Northside ISD Softball Tournament

The mighty Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles crushed the competition at the prestigious San Antionio Northside Independent School District Softball Invitational Tournament going undefeated in their pool play (4-0) while gaining valuable game experience during February 14-15, 2014 at San Antonio, Texas.

The Lady Eagles opened tournament play defeating San Antonio Stevens High School Lady Falcons 7-4 followed by another victory over San Antonio Brennan High School Lady Bears 7-4 during Friday, February 14th, and continued to roll over the competition on Saturday, February 15th, with victories over San Antonio East Central High School Lady Hornets 5-3 and Cibolo-Schertz Clemens High School Lady Buffaloes 6-3 to go undefeated in tournament play.

Lady Eagle standout southpaw pitcher Krystal De La Cruz earned all four wins for the Lady Eagles in the Northside Tournament.

The Lady Eagles missed out on the tournament championship to Pflugerville High School who also went undefeated in their pool play while allowing opponents less runs than the Lady Eagles. The Northside Tournament did not have a head to head championship game between the two pool play winners, the Lady Eagles and Pflugerville. The Northside Tournament determines the champion according to which pool play winner scores the most runs and allows the least runs during the four game tournament.

The Lady Eagles will next play on Tuesday, February 18th, at 7 P.M. against the San Antonio Southwest High School Lady Dragons, which are ranked fourth in the Greater San Antonio Metropolitan Area, at the Eagle Pass Independent School District Student Activity Center Softball Field. The public is invited to attend and support the Lady Eagles to victory.
