Congressman Pete Gallego, Senator Carlos Uresti, and Enroll America to host Workshop on how to get health insurance through Affordable Care Act on March 15th

Congressman Pete P. Gallego (D-TX, 23rd), State Senator Carlos I. Uresti (D-TX, 19th), and Ramon Chapa, Jr., Community Outreach Organizer of Enroll America, announced that Eagle Passans and Maverick Countians who lack health care insurance or have pre-existing medical conditions and are uninsured are invited to attend an official Enroll America “Get Covered America” Workshop on Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 10 A.M. through 4 P.M. at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center located at 480 South Adams Street at Fort Duncan Park in downtown Eagle Pass, Texas.
Americans who are uninsured are now eligible to enroll or purchase major health insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act until March 31, 2014. The open enrollment period for health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act ends on March 31st. All Maverick Countians who are uninsured and are interested in obtaining health insurance for themselves and family members are encouraged to attend this important, free workshop on Saturday, March 15th, at the Multi-Purpose Center, said Ramon Chapa.
The purpose of the Get Covered America workshop is to assist Maverick Countians to register and enroll in the health insurance marketplace under the Affordable Care Act through approved navigators and counselors from United Medical Centers, Enroll America, Get Covered America, Congressman Pete Gallego’s office, and Senator Carlos Uresti’s office.
English and Spanish-speaking volunteers will be available this Saturday, March 15th, at the Multi-Purpose Center. The Get Covered America workshop is open to the public and admission is free. The workshop is sponsored by Congressman Pete P. Gallego, Senator Carlos I. Uresti, Enroll America, Get Covered America, City of Eagle Pass, United Medical Centers, and the Eagle Pass Business Journal.
Persons interested in attending the Get Covered America workshop are requested to please bring proof of citizenship, proof of residency, proof of household income, and an email address or one will be obtained for you at the workshop.
