City Council to evaluate City Manager, 2013 Audit, Airport Feasibility Study, and Dos Republicas Coal Mine Case in Executive Session

The Eagle Pass City Council will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 5:30 P.M., at City Council Chambers in City Hall, 100 S. Monroe Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas, which includes Executive Sessions to evaluate City Manager Gloria Barrientos, discuss the City’s 2013 Audit Management Letter, Single Audit Supplement, and Governance Letter, discuss the C. C. Winn Family’s donation of real estate property for the Airport Feasibility Study, and discuss the Dos Republicas Coal Mine permit case status followed by Open Sessions for each of these items.
The Eagle Pass City Council has a busy agenda for its April 1st regular meeting at City Council Chambers located inside City Hall. The Agenda includes a Proclamation declaring April as Fair Housing Month; Monthly Departmental Reports; the City Managers Report; an amendment to a City Ordinance regarding supervision of relatives; the selection of an Architectural/Engineering firm for the City’s Public Safety Complex; presentation and possible approval of the City’s 2013 Financial Statements and Audit Report by Martinez, Rosario & Company, LLP; discussion and possible approval of an agreement for internet and maintenance services between the City and Calumet Computers, Inc. for the City Library; and discussion and possible approval between the City and the Eagle Pass Youth Baseball-Softball Association (Babe Ruth Baseball Division).
The City Council will also go into Executive Session to discuss certain matters and return to Open Session on these matters with possible action, including the evaluation of City Manager Gloria Barrientos and possible action regarding the same; consultation with legal counsel regarding the Management Letter, Single Audit Supplement, and the Governance Letter from Martinez, Rosario LLP regarding the City’s 2013 Audit; consultation with legal counsel regarding deliberation real property, deliberation regarding economic development negotiations regarding matters related to the Airport Feasibility Study and Report, the C.C. Winn Family real estate donation, and possible discussion with Maverick County regarding the Maverick County Airport; and consultation with City Attorney regarding Dos Republicas Coal Partnership coal mine project permit hearing status.
