Eagle Pass Man dies from African Bee stings

An Eagle Pass man, Enrique Galindo, age 41, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center resulting from hundreds of African Bee stings on his body, announced Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber.
The Maverick County Sheriff’s Department received a call between 6:30-7:00 P.M. regarding a man injured from bee stings on North Street in the Seco Mines area in Eagle Pass, Texas. A City of Eagle Pass EMS ambulance with paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment of his bee stings.
Unfortunately, Enrique Galindo succumbed to his injuries due to the multiple African Bee stings on his body and passed away at approximately 9 P.M. at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center.
Eagle Pass Fire Department Fire Marshal and firefighters also attended the emergency and called a professional pest exterminator to handle the African Bee hive inside a building on North Street. The bee hive was destroyed and exterminated.
