IBC Bank SVP Andres W. Beattie, Jr. Retires After 4 Decades in Banking
EAGLE PASS, Texas – Banking veteran, outstanding employee and community leader Andres W. Beattie, Jr. announced his official retirement from IBC Bank-Eagle Pass, after working for more than four decades in the banking industry, at an intimate gathering at the bank’s main branch on March 28. Having participated in every aspect of bank operations, Beattie has served as a collector, teller, vault supervisor, internal auditor, investment and federal funds representative and controller during his time at IBC Bank. He retired as the bank’s Senior Vice President, Retail Banking and Regional Marketing Manager.
“Andres is an outstanding citizen, family man and employee, and he tangibly demonstrated IBC Bank’s “We Do More” mission throughout the entirety of his career,” IBC Bank-Eagle Pass President and CEO Hector J. Cerna said. “Although we will miss Andres at the bank, we are honored to have had the opportunity to work with him and learn from his expertise for more than a decade.”
Beattie began his career at IBC Bank-Eagle Pass in 2001 as a Senior Vice President and lending officer with additional responsibilities as the bank’s security and marketing officer. His previous experience in banking, dedication to hard work and excellence in customer service allowed Beattie to climb the ranks at the bank, while maintaining positive customer and employee relations during his time working there. Immediately prior to joining IBC Bank, he served as controller of NBC Bank-Eagle Pass where he managed payroll, accounts payable, investments, as well as the customer service department and financial reporting. Before he entered the banking industry, Beattie was in the US Army for two years, one of which he spent stationed in Vietnam.
In addition to more than 40 years of experience in the banking and finance industries, Beattie is also dedicated to the community in which he lives and works. In 2011, Beattie was named “Business Advocate of the Year” by the Eagle Pass Business Journal. He was a board member for the Eagle Pass Housing Authority and the American Legion; he also served as a board member for both the School Based Decision Making Team of Austin Elementary School and the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce. Beattie previously served as both the president and international president of the International Good Neighbor Council in Eagle Pass. He currently serves as a board member of the Eagle Pass Education Foundation.

Beattie holds a business administration degree from Sul Ross State University and has earned considerable credits toward an advanced degree. He is happily married to his wife Patricia G. Beattie, with whom he shares one son, Andres Beattie, III, and a daughter-in-law Rose Beattie. They have two precious grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew. Upon his retirement, Beattie plans to spend more time with his grandchildren, travel with his family and read for leisure.
