Three Eagle Pass Lady Eagles receive TXSWA All-State Softball Honors

Three Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles softball players were named to the 2014 Texas Sports Writers Association (TXSWA) All-State Softball Team including senior outfielders Monica Flores and Krystal Perez and senior shortstop Sandra Mendoza.
This is the first time that three Eagle Pass softball players are named to the Texas Sportswriters Association All-State Softball Team, previously only one player had been named.
The Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles reached the 2014 University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region IV Semi-Finals Championship, falling to the San Marcos High School Lady Rattlers in a fiercely competitive best of three series.
Lady Eagle Monica Flores will be continuing her softball career with the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals, an NCAA Division I program in the Lone Star Conference, while Lady Eagle Krystal Perez will be playing for the Texas A & M International University Dustdevils, an NCAA Division II program. Lady Eagle Sandra Mendoza will be starring for the University of Texas at Arlington Mavericks, an NCAA Division I program in the Sun Belt Conference. All three Lady Eagles were also named to the 2014 District 29- 5A All-District Softball Team with Sandra Mendoza named the Most Valuable Player for the third consecutive year.
The Eagle Pass Business Journal congratulates Monica Flores, Krystal Perez, and Sandra Mendoza for being named to the 2014 Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Softball Team and wishes them all the success in their collegiate careers.
