Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
Friday, September 26, 2014, 11:30 AM: Officers of the Eagle Pass Police Department initiated an operation in an attempt to deter and prevent alleged acts of prostitution within the city. An officer of the Eagle Pass Police Department assigned to this operation was solicited by a female and the female subsequently arrested for solicitation of prostitution. 39 year old Dora Moraida was transported to the police department where she was processed and later presented before Municipal Court Judge Ruben Montemayor and transferred to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $2000 bond.
Saturday, September 27, 2014, 4:00 AM: Officers of the Eagle Pass Police Department responded to several calls of criminal mischief and burglaries of habitations in the area of Simpson Drive. Responding officers created a perimeter of the area commenced an extensive search. A blood trail left by the suspect who injured himself attempting to enter a residence via a glass window led officers to 27 year old Miguel Maldonado who was arrested for five separate incidents all within the same time frame. Maldonado was subsequently released and a personal recognizance bond due to injuries he sustained in the commitment of these acts against the property of citizens of the City of Eagle Pass.
Sunday, September 29, 2014, 1:30 AM: An officer of the Eagle Pass Police Department patrolling the area of North Veterans Boulevard and A.K. Mital Drive stopped to investigate a male subject near a storage facility which has been frequently vandalized. The male was seen by the officer photographing a wall of the facility and upon seeing the officer boarded a vehicle which was parked in the area of the storage facility. Investigating officers detained the male subject and during the investigation noticed a can of black spray paint on the floor board of the vehicle in clear view. Upon checking the wall which he was seen photographing, fresh black spray paint was discovered on the wall. This case is currently under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department as other cases of this nature have been reported.
