City of Eagle Pass International Bridges Nos. 1 and 2 temporarily closed due to bomb threat

The City of Eagle Pass International Bridges Nos. 1 and 2 were temporarily closed on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at approximately 1 P.M. as a result of a telephone bomb threat made to the PIedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico 066 emergency telephone line.
Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico federal Customs officials and law enforcement immediately notified U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials at the Eagle Pass International Bridges of the telephonic bomb threat received in Piedras Negras.
Pursuant to emergency protocol established by the U.S. and Mexico authorities, the two Eagle Pass International Bridges were temporarily closed to allow authorities to conduct a bomb inspection of the the two Eagle Pass International Bridges. After the bomb inspection, U.S. and Mexico authorities reopened the two Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras International Bridges since no bomb evidence or threat was located as a result of the joint inspection.
The Eagle Pass International Bridges were reopened at approximately 2 P.M. after being closed for one hour. U.S. and Mexico international traffic and commerce resumed shortly after the two Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras International Bridges were reopened.
