As a candidate for Maverick County Judge, I would like to invite you to take your identification card or ID during this very important election since in the state of Texas you are unable to vote without identification.
Believe and trust that with your identification and your vote the time to change the corruption in Maverick County has arrived. With your vote show courage against incompetence, abuse of authority, neglect, lack of transparency and the delicate financial situation that our present leaders have Maverick County with a debt of more than 67 million dollars.
Participate, value yourself and believe that with your identification and your vote, the change is you, for anyone who believes the impossible is possible. The time for a change is now, in this election of November 2014 for Maverick County Judge.
Believe and dream that our county does have a prosperous future. Our children, families and citizens deserve a Better Future.
Yes, we can dream to stop living in dusty streets and potholes and mud when it rains.
Yes, we can dream that all families must and deserve to have drainage in our county.
Yes, we can dream with decent and clean parks for our children and families.
Yes, we can dream to stop being one of the poorest counties in the United States.
Yes, we can dream to stop the abuse of tax increases each year and/or increased ad valorem appraisals of properties or assets such as more than 26% this year, causing an increase in our real property taxes.
Yes, we can dream that our taxes will not be allocated to create jobs with mega-salaries for politicians, their friends and relatives.
Yes, we can dream that our taxes will benefit the needy and not those who have more.
Yes, we can dream to fight the root of all evil affecting financial conditions and the huge debt of our Maverick County—we can fight the love for money and power without accountability to the voters and taxpayers—Yes, we can fight the personal enrichment of publicly-elected officials and their political cronies.
There are none so blind as those who choose not to see the inequality and reality. Enough of indifference. We have to take matters into our own hands and fight for the future of Maverick County and go out to vote in the election of 2014.
Take the example of our present leaders whom with arrogance, incompetence, injustice, manipulation, lack of ethics and integrity increase our taxes every year or the ad valorem tax property appraisals and we live in terrible conditions in a county without infrastucture and without seeing any benefit of our taxes. We continue to live in a county without economic development, high unemployment, high poverty, lack of medical insurance and health care services, diseases, and high corruption.
We have to dream, but we have to dream with our eyes wide-opened and not be fooled with the political favors and the work politicians do during their campaigns as they forget about us after they get elected or re-elected and then become four years of neglect of our needs while they personally enrich themselves at taxpayers expense.
We take responsibility as citizens and voters to promote the values, ethics, honesty and excellence –committing and combatting corruption and making an effort to improve our quality of life. Our children, our families and citizens deserve a better future. We have to make the Change this election of November 2014.
We have to believe and dream that as citizens who vote, we can rescue and save Maverick County and not allow Maverick County’s poor financial situation and corruption drown us and sink our future.
