Prominent Piedras Negras woman killed in San Antonio accident

A prominent family from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico was impacted head-on by another automobile driving on the wrong lane on Monday, October 13, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas, causing the death of Adriana Barron de Arteaga, the death of the wrong-way driver, and injuring two minor daughters of Arteaga and her husband, Efrain Arteaga Asis.
The fatal automobile accident occurred in the 16000 block of Vance Jackson Avenue in north San Antonio at approximately 5 P.M.
The Arteaga family were driving from San Antonio to Piedras Negras, Coahuila to attend a grand opening of the family-owned Operadora Merco, a supermarket store chain, newest store in Piedras Negras.
The two minor female children, ages 7 and 4, were seriously injured but are stable in a San Antonio hospital.
The tragic news saddened the Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila business community who knew the accident victim and her family.
Adriana Barron de Arteaga was the daughter-in-law of Monclova, Coahuila businessman Javier Arteaga Gutierrez, owner of the Operadora Merco supermarket store chain,
